...And All Good Things Are Yours.

Usually reflecting on one's past year comes when there's snow on the ground or in the case of San Francisco, rainy Bolinas days and muddy Tam trails, so it feels strange to reflect on the past year’s wanderings at this point as I just nip away at the southern edges of Peru.

There have been many epic landscapes I've had the fortune to be able to experience this year.  Many laughs. Many stories that will remain indelibly etched in my mind.  But, at the end of the day, this trip to date would not be the same without friends along the way who have lent camaraderie, insight, and shared their genuine love of traveling by bike.  You know who you are so I won't run through a long list.

There are, however, a few who have been tremendously helpful along the way and deserve special thanks:

The whole Mulder crew has been fantastically supportive and understanding as I dip on and off the grid.

Mike Temple and Carlo Sturken have been unsung heroes back in SF having received countless emails asking for assistance; forged my signature multiple times; and rallied to keep me from being homeless upon return.

I’ve ridden in the huge footsteps of Cass Gilbert, Mike Howarth, Dirt Dot Kurt, Neil and Harriet Pike, Joe Cruz, and others I’ve never met.  Cass and Mike's journey together inspired me for months before I even turned my first crank, and both have been a great sounding board for information along the way.

Thanks TC and B for kicking the door wide open in the first place.

Below is a collection of some of my favorite images and places by month that I have been fortunate enough to experience first hand.  It's difficult to put down in writing what this year has meant to me personally but I've come back to the following Swedish proverb many times over and think it's a good way to wrap up a year on the road:

"Fear less, hope more; whine less, breathe more; talk less, say more; hate less, love more, and all good things are yours."
