Took a few days off the enjoy Whitefish and the incredible hospitality of Tony and Dabna. Last time I was through Whitefish was '93 on a cross country tour with my brother and Tony rolled out the red carpet then and again this past week. Great to see a familiar face and we caught up on all things Williamstown over a few beers in their backyard and on life in Whitefish in general.
A stop at the local farmers market where we feasted on some local food before picking up their farm basket of greens and cycling back through town. I've been eating pretty healthy so far, but rolling through the market and the local health food store made me miss the immediate access to quality produce to which I'd become accustomed.
For much of the days, I staked out in front of Montana Coffee Traders to enjoy some good coffee and scones while watching the street activity and catching up on life on the grid.
Whitefish is also the first point on the Divide to access a real bike store so a visit to Glacier Cyclery was definitely in order. The mechanics were super stoked on the Rohloff belt drive and all things Divide since the bulk of the race had come through the week prior. It's a an awesome bike shop catering to all levels and the owners were instrumental in helping to stitch together some of the routes into and out of Whiteish. Multiple mechanics keep everyone happy and a white board says it all.
Team photo with Tony and I sporting some solid bad hair... thanks again T & D, you guys were awesome and fantastic hosts!
